Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about hiring a certified lifeguard for your event.
How far in advance should I book a lifeguard?
We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance for private parties and 3–4 weeks for larger events. Rush bookings (within 3 days) are available with an additional fee.
What areas do you serve?
We currently serve California, Florida, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina — with more states launching soon.
What is the minimum booking time?
All bookings require a 3-hour minimum. Additional hours are billed at standard rates.
Can I book multiple lifeguards for a large event?
Absolutely. As a general guideline: 1 guard for up to 25 swimmers, 2 for 25–60 swimmers, and 3 or more for larger events. We'll help you determine the right number during your quote.
Are your lifeguards Red Cross certified?
Yes. Every lifeguard in our network holds a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification, which includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
Are your lifeguards background-checked?
Yes. All staff undergo comprehensive background checks before being added to our network.
Do you provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI)?
Yes. We carry up to $10M in general liability coverage and can provide a COI upon request, typically within 24 hours of booking confirmation.
Do lifeguards bring their own equipment?
Yes. Every lifeguard arrives with a rescue tube, first aid kit, and all necessary safety equipment.
What does the lifeguard do before the event starts?
Your lifeguard arrives at least 15 minutes early to conduct a venue walkthrough, assess hazards, and brief you on the event setup and safety protocols.
How much does it cost to hire a lifeguard?
Pricing starts at $225 for a 3-hour booking at a private backyard pool. Pricing varies based on event type, location, hours, and number of guards needed. Get a free quote for an exact estimate.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 48 or more hours before the event receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a partial charge.
When do I pay?
Payment is due after your guard is confirmed, via our online invoice and waiver checkout process.
Can the lifeguard also teach water safety or swim lessons?
Event lifeguards focus exclusively on supervision and safety. Formal swim instruction and CPR training are offered separately through our Swan Aquatics and Swan CPR divisions.
